MSC declared the opening of Britannia, a new service that will improve port links by way of a special route connecting Liverpool, UK with China and Vietnam.
By creating a direct route to Liverpool, UK, and MSC’s hubs in Rotterdam, Netherlands; Antwerp, Belgium; and Hamburg, Germany, this new loop provides access to the port of Vung Tau, Vietnam. It extends the company’s reach from China and Vietnam to the UK and the Northwest Continent by connecting to locations in Scandinavia and the Baltics.
The first sailing will be the vessel MSC DENISSE X on 1 July.
The full rotation is as follows:
Shanghai, China > Ningbo, China > Yantian, China > Vung Tau, Vietnam > Liverpool, UK > Rotterdam, Netherlands > Antwerp, Belgium > Hamburg, Germany > London Gateway, UK > Singapore, Singapore >Shanghai, China
Additionally, MSC declared the opening of Carioca, a new weekly service that links Asia with South America’s East Coast.
This service will supplement MSC’s current Ipanema and Santana services by improving coverage, increasing connectivity, and increasing frequency with Asia on this trade route.
The Carioca service will specifically:
- Improve links to Navegantes, Vitoria, and the River Plate region via Rio de Janeiro
- Extend port coverage by adding calls to Itapoa and Rio de Janeiro
- Increase the number of sailings between South Brazil (Santos and Paranagua) and Korea and China.

The first-ever cruise, MSC YOKOHAMA is planned to leave Busan on July 19.
