Cyprus’ Business Turnover in Transportation and Storage

Cyprus’ Business Turnover Index in Transportation and Storage reached 143.1 units in the fourth quarter of 2023, with 2015 being the base year, reflecting a 6 per cent increase compared to the same quarter in 2022, according to a report released on Tuesday by the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat).

Every single economic activity saw growth when compared to the same quarter the year before.

In particular, land transportation increased by 8.6%, postal and courier services increased by 0.6%, air transportation increased by 10.9%, along with storage and support activities for transportation. Maritime transportation also saw an increase of 0.4%.

The Work Activity Index in Transportation and Storage increased by 16 percent between January and December of 2023 when compared to the same period in 2022.

The sector’s performance and economic activity have shown a favorable trend over the defined periods, as indicated by these statistics.
